Setup

1. 30 City token 셔플 후 game board 에 face down 으로 놓은 후 face up.
   *Salsa: Forum 뒤에 나와있음.
   – Byzantium / Hispania map (Salsa map): base game token 모두 사용 + 남은 곳에 salt cities.
   – mperium / Italia (basic map), Corsica / Gallia, Britannia / Germania: Basic cities에서 A: food city, B: tool city, C: wine city, D: brick city를 빼고, 해당 A-D salt city token으로 대체.
2. 각 province 마다 faced up token 중 가장 비싼 goods의 bonus marker를 game board 왼쪽 상단에.
3. I-V 카드를 I 카드들이 가장 위,그 다음  II 순으로 각각 셔플 후 stack 만들고 가장 아래에 Concordia (7점짜리) , the top 7 cards from stack are displayed face up on the top right corner of the game board.
   – 2인용 플레이일 경우 I, II 카드만 사용. 3인용은 I-III, 4인용은 I-IV 등.
4. 각 player들 각자 board를 가지고 2 land and 2 sea colonists, 2 foods, 1 cloth, 1 wine, 1 brick, 1 tool을 개인 storage space에 놓기.
   *Salsa: 1 foods, 1 cloth, 1 wine, 1 brick, 1 tool, 1 salsa
5. 각 player들 1 land and 1 sea colonists를 시작 도시에 놓고 scoring marker는 0에 놓기.
6. 본인 스타팅 카드 가지고, 1st player는 5원, 2nd player는 6원 순서로 돈 받음.
7. *Salsa: Forum
   – 파란색 (permanent) forum cards를 따로 분리 후 셔플해서 player 당 2 장씩 나눠줌.
   – Player들은 그 중 1 장 선택 후 face up. 나머지 카드들은 green cards와 셔플 후 face up 상태로 stack.
   – Forum tableau에 stack에서 4장 순서대로 나열.

Playing the Game

1. 본인 턴에 가지고 있는 카드 중 1장 플레이 후 executing the related actions.
2. 사용한 카드는 본인 discard pile에.

End of the Game

– Game board에 있는 I-V카드 모두가 소진되거나 (제일 먼저 마지막 카드를 구입하는 사람이 concordia 7점 카드 받음), player 중 누군가 가지고 있는 15개 집을 다 지으면 끝.
– 한 플레이어가 게임종료 조건을 만족시키면 그 플레이어 제외 나머지 사람들 한번씩 마지막 턴.
